I am Associate Professor of Cosmology and Culture at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Director of the University’s Sophia Centre. I am programme manager of the  University’s online Master’s (MA) programmes in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology, the only academic programme in the world to explore humanity’s engagement with the sky, stars and planets, and Ecology and Spirituality. I am a Director of the Sophia Centre Press, which publishes in partnership with the University, and of the University’s Harmony Institute.

My research interests centre on the history and culture of astrology and the cultural applications and significance of astronomy and cosmology, along with millenarian, utopian and New Age beliefs.

I am on the International Committee of the conferences on the Inspiration of Astronomical Phenomena (INSAP). In 2022 I was awarded the Carlos Jaschek award for outstanding contribution to the study of Astronomy and Culture, by the European Society for the Study of Astronomy and Culture (SEAC).
